Oasis Initial Research

Oasis's current messages/ promotion
As you can see the oasis look is very girls, they also like bright colours, although I think that on the website it looks quite bare, and not bright as there is too much white, I also think that the typewriter type looks a bit too mechanic for oasis, as there logo type suits them.

Other images also seem quite dull for instance the coat promotion below says lighten up but the parka itself is a dark colour. I am also unsure of the use of the ice cube, I can't see how this connects.

The messages are quite fun , the last 'cute to boot' is the best , but they do seem slightly impersonal.

What is the actual meaning of the word oasis ?

1. (Physical Geography) a fertile patch in a desert occurring where the water table approaches or reaches the ground surface
2. a place of peace, safety, or happiness in the midst of trouble or difficulty
3. a refuge, as from work or stress; haven

water, waterfalls, plants,

The Havasu ‘Baaja, the aptly named people of the blue-green water, maintain this desert oasis. Havasupai is the ideal place for scaling waterfalls, exploring riverbed travertine (limestone) formations, and relaxing in natural pools to the soothing sound of rushing water.

I searched the term women on google search thinking about inspirational women from the past, however in the suggestions bar , women's body shape types

From this we could work upon the ideas of the shapes, and decide which shapes are appropriate to use. I also think that the shapes are very visual, and we could alter the names of some of them.

i.e. pears, apple, hourglasses

we could draw imagery or take photographs, and make them almost print like.
And for the messages we could work with sayings of the particular items, or ideas to do with them e.g. pear - things going pear shaped

We could even change all the names of the shapes to a fruit
 or most of them…

we would have to discuss this together
and messages that go along with the particular thing
